I was wondering if there is any update available from this meeting?
Lot of people from participated in the conference call and asked specifically about concurrent July/August filer I-140 backlogs and TSc discrimination. Ombudsman and USCIS people replied that they are aware of the problem, tried to get response from TSC but TSC is apparently not replying to their request for Information. They said that they shall post the info as soon as it is available (god knows when). They asked everybody to submit form 7001 to Ombudsman so that he can escalate the issue. Let us see if anything comes out of this.

Spill over from FB should go to most retrogressed EB category regardless of the EB1,2,3,..
In this case, if any spill over from FB should go to EB3-I. I dont know whether spill over will happen from FB or NOT.
FB spillover from a year gets added to overall EB quota of 140K for next year. And each category gets its proportional share of the spillover.

just now finished taking an appointment to chennai consulate. while it was painful, i didnot get any errors like you mention.
you need to save and submit the application.
it then takes you to a page where in you need to confirm how you want to receive the passport
once you select that you need to click on "continue" which will then take you to calendar where you can choose your specific dates.
i used IE
btw, make sure you type all addresses in one liner. if you try to indent [splitting in multiple lines] it doesnot showup in pdf form [shows only first two lines]

I got my green card from Company A. During my labor process i renewed my H1B from Company B which expired last month.
Right now who is my employer Company A or B or none of the above?.
If I understand you correctly, you were working for Employer A and he filed your Labor. You changed to employer B while labor was pending and started working for employer B on H1. Employer A continued to process your GC and you got it approved. If this is true, then you should immediately join employer A since your GC was approved through employer A.

Chris, Can you change the title. This is actually good news. USCIS is coming out with some real solutions now. It is known quite for some time that USCIS data capturing is so poor, they can not sort and order AOS applications on PD. We know how they issued GCs to 2006 PD ahead of 2002/2003 PDs this august. If this email thing works correctly, we can expect steady movement of cut off dates in future instead of wild jumps back and forth.

Hi!
Much like many in this forum, my husband and I are stuck in this retrogression mess. I have spent 3 years on H4 and 3 more in H1. I am told now that I will not be able to work until my husband's greencard process has moved beyond the 485 stage. Our lawyer is suggesting that I can extend my H1 by 3 years by making a good faith argument to the USCIS that I have not utilized the full 6 years in H1 time and a secondary arguement that my husband has an approved 140 petition that can allow extension of H time. I will really appreciate any opinions from the forum members and from people who may tried this before. Please respond!

If I look at this link below on # of immigrant visa's approved every year for for each country it shows the total for India (all category EB 1-5) as

Am I reading this right because this certainly is more than the country limit. Also the total # of visa's given seem to be more than the annual limit. I thought there were some 250k visas that were lost, were the limits higher during these years?

Unless you go in person to the consualte, you are not going to be able to speak to anyone. Moreover with suacha tight time constraint, you should have made a visit to the embassy and should have used your US address, which is what they ask you do at the DC Embassy.

The foreign-born spouse should submit an application for adjustment of status which is an application for a green card. Items which may accompany the green card application include green card photographs, an application for employment authorization, an application for a travel permit and numerous other INS forms.

Berkeleybee, I am not sure I totally agree with you - having a forum where people can come in and ask questions related to the core problems is a great way to increase readership and to promote the necessary esprit de corps. The members-only forums - now those, I agree - mainly ideas, activities etc. (Personally, I find it very difficult to stay tuned to 3 or 4 different immigration web sites/forums).
vnsriniv, to answer your question - to the best of my knowledge, you will have to wait till the dates become current - the current processing dates of the service centers don't mean much - there are several cases of 485 approvals of petitions with PDs > cut-off dates based on other posts on this board.

Lately the members of IV have come to know that Aman Kapoor, the co-founder of IV has sold his house and spent around $64000/- towards the administrative costs of IV. This too was brought to our attention from a regular member like you and me, without which this would not have come to our knowledge at all.
So some of the members have taken an initiative to reimburse Aman and other core IV team members with the expenses they have incurred so far towards the administrative costs of IV. Note that the time they have spent and the sufferings cannot be compensated. Let us do the least by atleast compensating the money. Please do not donate directly to IV funds.
There is a funding drive in this other thread towards reimbursing the administrative costs of IV.

My brother chose to leave USA on his own, after working for 6 years, without applying GC. He was getting 120K here in USA. In India, he joined Oracle Corp and his salary is almost same (about Rs.55Lacs). Indian salaries are becoming excellent these days.
